Pupil Premium

What is pupil premium?

Pupil premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools to support a specific group of children.  It helps schools close the gap in achievement between these students and their peers. These include pupils who are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) (or have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years), those looked after by the local authority and students who have parents in the armed forces.

How we use the funding?

We recognise that every student is unique and may face different challenges. Our approach focuses on the whole child and not just the academic progress of students. All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received and how this is being used to improve the attainment of disadvantaged students.  The impact of the funding should also be reported.
